Hey guys..no luck on the insurance. I believe Anthem BC/BS is what I will be having now. As far as I know they don't cover. Since we are such a small company I am totally out of luck. I will still apply and appeal and who knows it might be better than I think. So if anyone has any insight please let me know. Thank you...Angela

Do you have any health concerns like diabetic, sleep appena, high blood pressure or other that is related to your weight? When I was doing my paperwork, I went to my Dr & got dates & blood pressure readings, weight, & blood sugar readings that showed that it was getting worse & my weight was going up & this was my only solution. When I went to Georgtown they recommended that. They have an insurance coordinator that know what the insurance companies will accept & won't & they'll stay on your case until all avenues are exhausted. It took me about 1 year to get approved so don't give up!!! Give Georgetown a call 1-888-868-0008. Hope this helps.

I feel so bad for you Angela. You are going though what I was afraid would happen to me. I wish I could give you some words of advice about insurance, but I just don't know. Don't give up though, where there is a will there is a way. --Angela

Hi angela, so sorry this has happened. My husband works for a small company and we have anthem bc/bs ppo. Mine was covered. I was approved in 8 days. It just depends if the company excludes this on their policy. I did have to show 6mths of supervised wt loss attempts. I would appeal and see if you can get your family doctor to write a litter of medical necessaty. I would never give up. This has totally changed my life in 8 short months. I'll keep you in my prayers

Hello Angela, I agree with everyone here; keep fighting!! I am sorry that you didn't get approved, but appeal the decision and fight for your right for this surgery. Ask your Dr. for a letter of medical necessity, like one poster suggested and see if they can approve it if you do certain things and fall within certain criteria. Good luck hon and if you need someone to talk to, please feel free to email me. Dee :fairy:
