I attended the WLS seminar on May 8 and has my pre-op tests on Friday, the 26th. I was told that when the results came to the doctor that they would call me and schedule me for surgery. The results should be there tomorrow (Wednesday). I am scheduled for the Nutrition Seminar on June 7th but was hoping to maybe have surgery that week. How long does it take to get a surgery date once the pre op tests are done? Insurance is not an issue. I guess I am just anxious and excited and most of all IMPATIENT!!!! lol My b-day is June 5th and I thought this would be an excellent b-day present. lol Any info is appreciated. Angie P

Congrats on getting so much done, Angie. I finished up today. I thought all I had left to do was meet the doctors but I had Boot Camp and to see the PASS nurse and of course, to pay my fees. It was NOT easy handing over that kind of money today but when I was finished with my day there, I asked if that was it... nothing else until surgery on Monday and they said YES! I'M DONE NOW! Surgery is the next step for me. I heard things in Boot Camp that I did NOT like but I knew it anyway. Then of course, there's the issue for women. I've read and had it confirmed today that most women start their period after WLS because ( I guess ) the stress on the body and how this is going to work on our hormones somehow. I do NOT look forward to having a cath AND a period at the same time. How does one take care of something like that? I'd think the cath would get in the way of the ummm... personal care required in that area. I'm planning on getting some maternity, mesh-type undies for the hospital that will give and allow for the cath and still hold "things" in place. By the way, that's the thing I was referring to when I said I heard something I didn't like. Angie, if you haven't already done so, you might want to get started on your vitamins. Are you doing the low-carb diet now? I had my "last not-so-good-for-your" meal tonight. Would you believe the Seseme Chicken tasted HORRIBLY SWEET? I still ate it though. I know this is food I'll probably never be able to eat again for life and it is my favorite type of food. I shall miss my Chinese food... MAYBE. I'm back on diet now. I also took some Milk of Magnesium, a laxative they told me to take on Saturday at 3 p.m. I couldn't figure out why in the world they would want me to take that nasty-tasting, chalky, make-you-gag, pastie feeling gook in the middle of the day. AFTER I took it just a little while ago, my daughter read the directions for me. It said it would cause "movement" in 30 minutes to 6 hours. That is going to probably disturb my sleep. However, it did say something about taking it at bedtime. Perhaps I'll be okay. I just need some relief. Gale
