A realistic goal would be to get in at least 4 oz (1/2 cup ) every hour to prevent dehydration. When drinking protein drinks, mix small servings as protein settles when it sits for prolonged periods of time. Also, keep the protein refrigerated when possible as if it sits for long periods of time it can grow bacteria and make you sick. Remember, your stomach is smaller now and can hold very little, but it is like a funnel...fluids will trickle on through so hang in there andkeep sipping! Best wishes...

The first 3-4 weeks are most definitely the hardest. That first week I even wondered what the heck had I done to myself and couldn't even think about getting in all the liquids. But I sipped and sipped. I am over a year post op and drink all the time now lol. After the first month it will get better.
