does anyone know if medicaid or medicare covers the lap band? in the state of ky?

At the time, St. Joe East is the only "Center of Excellance" in the state that medicare is now requiring. Unless some more have recently completed their tests to become one.

Ashley, Lapband sugery is cover by both here in Ky,I have medicaid had my sugery done March-03-06 an i'm done 59 lbs as of today.Dr.Rodriquez did mine and he great he works out of Nortons hospital and Lousiville Unv.Dr.Allen did the seminar he seem nice also. when i first joined this site i had cha. which was a nightmare and i didnt feel i could withstand the rejections of many appeals. i knew that i was going to be getting medicaid and medicare soon but it actually took longer then i had thought. but anyway now that i know it covers it i cant stop crying tears of joy its like i can see a brighter future and im so happy. i just dread going back through all the steps again but its so worth it. i want to thank you guys for the information and if anyone knows where i can find a list of surgeons that take medicaid and medicare please let me know. thanks
