question to ask surgeon

for those of you who have had there surgery is there any certain question i need to ask supposed to have first appointment friday 26th but still working on transportation for it

Hey Jessica, Dr Nease will go over all your paperwork and address any problems you have. My main question was whether he would be able to do it Laproscopic or have to do it Open. I've already asked several questions of the staff where I'll be having my surgery. The mortality rate of each of the three doctors was one question. The experience, who had more experience with lap than the other two. How MUCH experience. How many days are covered in the cost quoted to me (that's for self-pay though). What is dumping? I just could not figure out the difference between "throwing up" and "dumping". I thought maybe dumping was VIOLENTLY throwing up whereas throwing up was just plain old puking. What kind of anesthesia is used during surgery? What kind of pain meds afterward? Is there anything that would indicate my surgery was WLS IF I had a friend of family member come see me in hospital? This was important to me because no one knows I'm having this expect my husband and daughter. Yeah Dr. Wheeler and Dr. Thompkins in Ashland are in affiliation with Kings Daughters www.kdmc.com they do not take medical cards only private pay and private insurance. I am very thankful Aetna did not give me much hassle. I had my surgery with Dr. Wheeler on April 18 and have done suprisingly well. I live in Paintsville and Ashland is not that far away as I drive to Huntington to work almost everyday.

I am doing great.....3rd week was kinda rough, i was nauseous all the time..didnt dump or anything just had that sick feeling. The doc changed my vitamins and everything is fine again. Went back to work on yesterday and I have gone from 302.5 lbs to 260 as of a week ago. I try not to get on the scale that often as I dont want to freak out or anything if I am in a stall or dont see results.
