Excedrin, Stanback and Goody's Powders
I read this morning a whole list of over-the-counter meds we can NOT take. Excedrin, Asprin, Stanback and Goodys powders being on the top. All of which I take for headahes. What can we take for headaches and other pain relief if we can't take this anymore? This concerns me because Excedrin and the powders are the ONLY things I've found to knock my headaches and they are bad enough to put me in the bed for HOURS and some times the day... not often as I have been able to take these meds. Any info on this would be helpful.

Most surgeons say to stay away from NSAIDS because they can cause you to get ulcers. I take Tylenol but thankfully I haven't had any bad headaches since surgery. Aleve, Ibuprofen, and anything with Aspirin is what you need to stay away from, but some of the more powerful pain meds are ok such as Loracet, Loratab, and Vicodin. LoL those are a little strong for just a headache but they are ok to take.
Tony, thanks for replying so quickly. I just found this website last night. I see you had your surgery on 2/20. How's that going for you? I go in Thursday for my Phsyc eval, nutritionist, exercise physiolcgist and internist. Since I'm self-pay all the way they are wasting no time in scheduling a visit here and a visit there. I hope to have my surgery done and out of the way by first part of June, MAYBE!
They told me a couple of weeks to be back at work but four or five days to drive. My June/July job (five weeks) I can do all driving. Were you able to get around very well shortly after surgery?
I'm so excited about this. I'm scared... but so excited.

I'm doing great now! I'm down 80 pounds since my surgery and I feel so much better. This was the first surgery I ever had and in the very begining it was a little rough because I was so sore, but the more you walk and try to stay somewhat active it helps alot. My surgeon told me no driving for 2 weeks but I'd say as long as you feel ok it would be fine. Good Luck!
