V.A. hospital in Louisville?

Does the V.A. hospital in Louisville do RNY surgery? My son-inlaw is a vet and needs the surgery, but We were told Louisville,Ky. V.A. is the only one that does RNY, Has anyone here had it done at that V.A. hospital? How would he go about getting ahold of them to see about scheduling a consult? He currently uses the V.A. in Danville, Il and they are of no help at all, and wont direct him to Ky. Thank you all for you help. Rosemary, Enjoy the ride!

Yes.....Dr. Gaar does the RNY at the VA. He is actually my mom's surgeon. He did her open RNY in 2001 and she had done great. She lost over 140lbs and has kept all of it but about 10lbs off. She absolutely loves Dr. Gaar......he's a wonderful surgeon. he's very straightforward. She didn't have her actual surgery at the VA, she had it at Norton's, but I know he does it at the VA now. Have your son in law give Dr. Gaar's office a call. I wish him the best of luck!!!
