anyone who had wls at saint joseph east
Tina,
I had surgery at St. Joseph's East four weeks ago. You will have a visit with the surgeon a week before your surgery and they will draw blood then. They will explain the process to you then. The morning of surgery you will go directly to the hospital to the day surgery area. They will give you directions. I only had to wait about 1/2 hour before they took me back to surgery. I was very pleased with my whole experience? I have not had any problems and I have lost 25 pounds since surgery. I would be happy to answer any questiions you might have. Just email me.
Take care and relax. Things will go really well.
Hi Tina,
I had surgery at St Joe East and it was a wondeful experience.
They should give you a little piece of pink paper at your last Dr visit before surgery. This is your pre admission pass. When you arrive at St Joe East the morning of your surgery you just take that in and show it to the little guy there on the left and he will direct you to surgery waiting room.
When you get back there you give that pass to the lady there and have a seat. I waited MAYBE 10 minutes before they called me back. I went back and changed and got comfy on my little gurney and then they hooked me up to IV and gave me some meds to help me relax. They let hubby come back for about 20 mins before surgery and then we were off! I helped position myself on the operating table. Everyone was very nice and I remember there was music playing. Can not remember what it was though. Doc Steiner came in and told me what all was going to happen and then they told me they were going to start slowing giving me the meds to make me go to sleep through my IV. I started to feel my eyes getting heavier and heavier and the next think I knew I was in recovery with my nurses. You have two nurses in recovery. One of the two are with you AT ALL TIMES, never leave your side. I thought that was great. Then I was in my room and it was time to walk walk walk! You will do fine. Good Luck!
