My husband and I had my sleeve done in edmond on Mon. by Dr. Walton. I live in your neck of woods. I would love to be involved in the same support group as you so we can get to know eachother. You will do fine. My husband and i have had very different recoverys but im sure in the end we will say it has been worth it all. so far just since monday i have lost 12 lbs.
I look forward to hearing from you.

SFL sent my records to TallGrass. Tall Grass accepted it, thought I have not turned in the paperwork to insurance. It is my insurance that will have the final say. So, I am in limbo on that part. Your insurance may not even need the 3-6 month supervised diet, never know till you ask.

Dusty,
Thanks for your reply! I figured I would have to go outside Wichita.... Were you able to take your paperwork from SFL and get approval at Tallgrass? Did you have to start the process over or did they honnor your classes from SFL?
I can't believe a city the size of Wichita has no "preferred providers"... Unbelieveble!!!
Thanks!!

I was stuck in a similar situation like you. I did my supervised diet at SFL, but could not have the surgery due to thier restrictions and my insurance coverage for Wesley only. I started to look for in policy providers and found both the hospital and the surgons with TallGrass in Topeka are in-coverage. I have been working through them. So far I have no complaints with the group.
See if they are in-coverage with your insurance.
Dusty.

Count me in. Evenings work so well for me.
Need to work on the where.
I will give it some thought and let you know what I think of.
This is a great idea. Let's make it a reality.

Hi there! I'm not sure where you live in Kansas, or how far away from Sedalia you are, but Dr Hornbostel (sedalia, mo) accepts medicare and it seems like it went pretty quick, also medicare (at this time) does NOT require a 6 mo supervised diet nor does dr H , He is an excellent surgeon, and everyone on the Missouri board that has had him raves! he gives patients a home number and is very easy to get ahold of should you need to, his wife (a nurse ) works with him and is extremely knowledgable also and a great help. Good luck to you, Susan
