Hi, this is my first time on the Kansas board.  I would love a free support group meeting too... Maybe we can start one up.  I will volunteer my home.  Let me know.

Hi, I had surgery Lap RNY on April 21st with Dr Hachem.  He was a little intimidating at first but warmed up considerably.  I have not had any issues (other than retaining water).  Not sure what kind of surgery you are having but he will take good care of you.  Sorry can't get together face to face as I live in Hutch and work in Wichita.  I also was self-pay.  If you have any questions, you can private message me.  Good luck.  Vicki

Topic: Just posted four new stall busting, low carb recipes!!!

I've just posted four new STALL busting recipes in the recipe forum...

That's right Four very low carb additions to my other recipes designed to make sure you've got the tastiest stuff you can have without any of the guilt.  We can't eat much so why not make it super tasty and high quality?

Burgundy Beef and Broccoli
"Talk of the Town" Chicken
Grilled Coconut Ginger Chicken
Creamy-Cheesy Wondersoup

And the ones I posted last week:

Rosemary Grilled Chicken with Creamy Gorgonzola Sauce
Marjoram-Thyme Herbed Roast

Check them out and if you like them, kindly leave your comments in the recipe forum.  If you're in a hard stall, I've got plans to help, just PM me...but it takes some time for me to get to all of the emails.

See everyone later!

I would find out all of the options you have in terms of companies tto choose from. Then contact the doctor you wish to have the surgery with and ask them which company they have had the best job in getting people approved. I don't think you have to worry about having BCBS of Kansas...they are the bottom of the barrel for WLS...won't touch it.

Best wishes and good luck on your surgery.

Topic: RE: Anyone go to Tall Grass support groups in Topeka?

Many people who have this surgery are bit on the shy side. Our support group will fit well no matter what your preference is. We do actually introduce ourself with just our name, the surgery type, and when we had our surgery. After that, it is pretty low-key in terms of feeling obligated to talk. In June, Valena actually came a few minutes later after we had completed the introductions, so I didn't want you to be shocked when you showed up. We are a very friendly group and you can get a lot out of support. I really hope you decide to join us. Please give us a try and we will try not to bite...well not too much.
