Although I am still pre-op, I will be having my WLS done at Tallgrass/St. Francis. I have done some research re: the Tallgrass surgeons & St. Francis Hospital, and everything I have found has been positive, only negative comments were about the usual stuff when you're in the hospital, i.e. nurses taking too long to respond - but unfortunately that is pretty much the same wherever you go. Hello! I will be meeting with Dr. Steward next month, and am wondering if any of you who have had him as a surgeon would like to share your experiences with him and Tallgrass (St. Francis) hospital. I would like to know a LOT more about him and the facillity. Please dont be shy, I would like to hear good and bad, so I can prepare. I passed my MMPI, and got the official go ahead from my therapist...so I am happy to have that done!

Topic: BCBS St Geary Community Hospitl

Has anyone be following what is going on with BCBS at Geary Hospital? They have opted out of the BCBS network for 2009.

I had my RNY there 3 yrs ago, and without BCBS insurance I would not have been able to have surgery. I think what the hospital is doing is wrong and is going to hurt a lot patients who want to have wls there. If you want to find out more check out their website: www.gchks.org. Topic: W. Wichita Garage Sale lots of plus size clothing

I am planning on having a huge garage sale this Sat. the 11th in the west Wichita area. It will be mainly womans plus size clothing from 1x-4x. Lots of name brand clothing from Dillards, Catherines, and Lane Bryant some still with tags.

I will post the address later this week I want to make sure that it's all a go before I finalize everything so keep a watch out and if you know of anyone needing plus size clothes they really need to come lots of good stuff.

HI you guys!!!
I just got my surgery date....i had to make it for after the new year when my husband had vacation time so someone could take care of me. I moved here from CA 5 years ago and have a few friends. I live on the East side of town. I use to work out at CURVES and went for a year and lost 30lbs. I had to give up my membership but now am thinking of going to the YMCA. I work at Kwik Shop and have a funky schedule. (I am thinkg of going to T-Mobile...maybe we should talk!)
I WANT TO HAVE LOCAL SUPPOURT MEETINGS IN WICHITA (that are free...lol) I am having surgery in Junction City...they have stuff once a month but i hate the drive. (and i cant afford a whole tank of gas for an hour meeting) Anywho...I would LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE to get with you guys and maybe just hang out! I am sooooo glad I have found you 2!!! I am sooo excited!!
I hope to see you b4 your surgery!!

Topic: Anyone have OSF Health Plans?

I have spent the summer trying for approval. My policy is the HMO and my pain doctor thought we had enough information but suprise we dont. I now need to do a twelve month MD supervised diet with at least four MD visits during that year. (with other stipulations outlined in the policy of course).

I know many of you have been doing this but I would like to find someone with the same insurance company since it seems that they all have something different included. I live in the central Illinois area and would be haveing surgery some time at OSF St Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois.

Humana bought out OSF insurance and come January we will be absorbed into there company.
I am so looking forward to another diet where I can loose weight only to yoyo back. Lisa
