Keep sipping and walking and if you get too uncomfortable get to know a heating pad up close and personal. It will help with the port pain and the deferred shoulder pain if it does happen to show up.
If I can help in anyway I am only an email away.
Congrats and welcome to a wonderful new lifestyle,
Connie B.
Congratulations on getting your band. I pray that it works well for you. I look forward to your update posts, telling us that you're doing great!
You probably live too far away, but just in case...we have a new support group in Winfield, which meets the 2nd Sat. of each month. If interested, let me know, and I'll send more details.
Keep walking, sipping, and resting.
Blessings,
Mary

I am not officially a bander :) Everything went well. Just like I've been reading from other's stories. Dr. Hoehn and his staff are absolutly wonderful, as are the staff at Heartland Spine and Surgical. Very supportive and compassionate.
My belly is a bit sore, but I'm walking around, trying to drink everything I'm suppose to, and sleeping alot. I feel like I could drink an ocean, I drank as much as possible before midnight but I still woke up with terrible dry mouth.
I've had alittle bit of the burbs but nothing earth shattering. The deferred shoulder pain hasn't shown up yet, but I'm suspecting it will.
Thanks to everyone who has posted for your support and knowledge. It helps so very much

I'm about 90 miles NW of Wichita so quite a ways. Thanks for the invite however. I saw in the paper that there was a support group in Hutchinson so I may try that. But I'll wait for winter to let up before I try much of that. I'm just glad I got my weekly classes out of the way before icey roads.

Congratulations on moving along the pre-surgery track. I remember feeling like it was taking forever, too, but you'll get to the end of that road, and the next stop is surgery! :)
How far are you from Winfield? Probably too far, but we just started a support group. Our next meeting is the 2nd Sat. in January. Even if you can't come personally, I (group leader) would be more than happy to have you PM me with any questions, at any time. I'll help all I can.
Blessings,

When I use a powerd, I add in a little bit of sugar free pugging, and some ice. This makes them much thicker.
Hi Everyone!
I haven't been around in a while and wanted to stop in and say hi and give an update. Last you heard from me I was frustrated at the long classes at Solutions. Well, I made up my mind that I wanted to do it right so I resigned myself to the classes. They went by much faster than I expected and I did learn a lot. I feel they have given me the tools I need to make my surgery a success.
So now I am just in a holding pattern. I finished my classes in early Nov. and had my psych eval. I am now just waiting for the wheels to slowly turn and get my insurance approval clearance and get my appt. with the doctor. Dr. Dort will be doing my surgery and hopefully I will meet with him early in Jan and then set my date. I've been getting very discouraged at the way things were dragging but they have assured me that it's normal. And the clearances and tests I've had to get. I know it is for my own good but it seems to just be lengthing the process. I just want to get it done! I'm having lap band in case I forgot to mention it.
I will try not to be such a stranger and report in more often. I don't like near any support groups so I need the support of all here.
