Congrats on your surgery.  You will be sore for a few days and the gas will also take a few days to subside.  They recommended that we walk around once every hour and take Gas Ex strips to help dissolve the gas.  Just be sure to take it easy and drink and walk.

It sounds like fun but no, I don't think I can go.  Please let us know how the conference is when you return.

I do wish the rain would stop.  I need to finish working in my yard.

It's over!  I'm banded and home from the hospital.  OMG it hurts!  I know it's only 2 days but I think it is  the gas.  Yuck yuck yuck!    I have a few days off from work so I plan to stay busy.  Today I am just laying around though.

How long before the gas pains stop?

If you are interested in revising to the DS, I would suggest that you post your inquiry on the DS board. Revisions are tricky, revisions to DS are trickier. They can lead you in the right direction to a good surgeon. I know many use Dr. Anthone in Omaha. Find a surgeon that has lot of DS surgeries under their belt. And you may want to check out www.duodenalswitch.com as well.

I wish you luck & I know first hand how the knees moan & gripe at you, before I had surgery I was on a cane, now... no cane & I am actually active..lol  But I am taking the advice from the trainer & dr & doing 95% of exercise in the pool so less stress on the knees.
Will be thinking of you on Tuesday!

Hi Vicki,

Where is the meeting and when?  I really would like to try it as I'm only 40 miles west of Hutch.  If you think of it, drop me an email at ginsan at kans.com and remind me when it's close.  My memory just isn't the same  LOL.

I'm really starting to get nervous.  Surgery is Tuesday.  No backing out now.  I told someone today that in my mind I am saving my life.  Every time I even try to get out of my chair, my knees scream at me to get it done.  I can't believe how much better my blood sugar is on the fast.  I know I'm doing the right thing.

Hi everyone.

I am planning on attending the Obesity Help conference is Chicago and was just wanting to see if anyone else was planning on attending?  It sounds like so much fun.

Thanks,
Leslie

Yeah the time is flying by.. I had lap rny on Oct 21, 2008, but I started my journey with a lot of dental work in July so I have dropped around 125 pounds.. I can not believe how much better I feel.  No more high blood pressure meds for me.. woohooo...lol
I adore our support group in Junction City, & you can call them & chat anytime.
I know I will be in Wichita for about a week starting May 6.  Hubby is having back surgery at St Francis Via Christi the 7th.
