Topic: Surgery 12-19-06
Hi all , I had my surgery and I am feeling good, my stomach is still sore, and it hurts to get up and down, but other than that I am doing good. I get to start out on creamy soups and yogurt and ect today. Phyllis

Topic: RE: Financing
It's my understanding that the docs themselves don't finance but have 'deals' with various finance companies to accept payment through them. I believe Cap one participates w/ some doctors. Anyway I have some financial links I've gleaned from various members over the years, that might help you to do more research. Links for financing sites: http://www.medicredit.com/ http://www.p-f-s.com/ http://www.cogentfinancialgroup.com/ http://www.thfusa.com/?d=041805CA http://www.mymedicalfinancing.com http://www.surgeryloans.com http://www.citerrafinancial.com/ http://www.capitalonehealthcarefinance.com/ Best of luck!

Topic: RE: Post op medication
That's for life. Those medications can do those things to people with normal stomaches as well. So it's not like the danger will ever go away. I was on 800mg ibuprofen before surgery for my knees but I can't take it now. Now I'm taking Tramadol. It is a narcotic but not like what your used to. It doesn't make you "high" or intoxicate you. Well I guess if you took a handfull.... I find it effective but as an fyi my surgeon didn't prescribe it the VA did. Unfortunately I can't say that our veterans get quallity care. My pcp said it's good stuff if it works for you. I guess it doesn't work for everybody. I haven't had a chance to ask my surgeon.

Topic: SURGERY SUPPORT ANGELS NEEDED
Hello to Everyone, I have started a list on my OH blog for persons interested in becoming a SURGERY SUPPORT ANGEL. If you are interested in being a support person please put an entry into the comment spot, just click on my name to go there. Please sign-up for a SURGERY SUPPORT ANGEL, there are so many people that would like someone to give update reports, call them and keep tabs on their well-being after surgery. A lot of patients go without because they don't know how to find someone.

Is that recommendation for the rest of your life...or just in the post op period? I had been taking Ibuprofen daily for quite some time prior to scheduling surgery. I was thinking that I would be able to go back to it in a few weeks. Debbie
