Topic: RE: Anyone know of surgeons that take insurance in KC???
I would ask why not? Has your primary physician written a letter regarding your yeast infections to any one of those physicians? Where have you been to see a plastic surgeron? Do they not understand that you are having a yeast infection problem? That would be one of the reasons to have your primary care physician to write to them regarding you. It also might be that UHC does not pay very well on anything. That could be why they don't want to submit it.
Tell me where you have gone and who you have seen? I am in the medical field and I might be able to direct you if I know who you have seen.

Topic: Anyone know of surgeons that take insurance in KC???
I went to see my primary care doc who said I should go see a plastic surgeon regarding all the extra skin on my abdomen. I've been getting yeast infections for the past 16 months. She gave me the impression insurance would probably cover it. I checked with my insurance company and they said they would cover it if it was submitted as a bariatric procedure and not a purely cosmetic procedure. Well here is the problem I am facing so far....all the surgeons I have called on the list I have of surgeons that participate with United Healthcare have said the same thing. They won't submit to insurance for a tummy tuck. Am I doing something wrong? This doesn't make any sense to me.
Topic: RE: Financing???
I just had a call from a financing organization. Their number is 866-269-2327 ext. 82048 and the lady's name was Christina. Not sure if that would help but thought of you. Good luck on this.

Topic: RE: Financing???
Vonda,
Look up Medprova or efinancial.com......I tried those and response was quick. Although I was denied, my credit is not great.....but my husband's credit was better, we still were denied. I'm not sure how they rate it but, here i am, saving up $$...but I will get there. are you looking for surgery in the US? I am going to mexico for Lapband....cheaper and the surgeons have actually taught the Docs here in America. go figure, just something you may want to look into....I think I remember seeing GBS for around 12,500.00 Good Luck,
Topic: Financing???
Can anyone tell me if there is a place I can get good financing for GBS? My insurance absolutely will NOT pay and I have no other option that I know of then to pay out of pocket, but it is so expensive and my credit is not the best. I don't know where to go from here, really. If anyone can suggest something I would appreciate it. I need GBS desperately and have been trying for a long time to figure out how to get it. Please help if you can. :-S

Topic: Its time to Register for the Friends of WLS Boston Gathering
Its time to register for the Friends of WLS Boston Gathering March 23-25, 2007.
Please feel free to pass this information on to anyone that you think would enjoy this weekend. This weekend is open to all, Gastric Bypassers, Lapbanders, Dsers, etc.
Boston Gathering of Friends of WLS
Friday, March 23, 2007 - Sunday, March 25, 2007
Adults Only
Registration Deadline is February 9, 2007
Late Registration Deadline is March 2, 2007
This weekend is about connecting with people that can understand the journey we have taken and having some fun with fellow WLSers and support people.
I have finalized the Hotel information for the Boston Gathering. The cost of the hotel is $79.00/per night, this is per room. You can call the hotel to make your reservations at 1-800-325-3535 or (781) 848-0600 by March 2, 2007:
Sheraton Braintree Hotel
37 Forbes Road
Braintree, MA 02184
(Exit 6 off Interstate 93/state Route 128 )
We have been very fortunate to secure the $79.00 room rate again this year. The hotel has a good size pool, hot tub and saunas. They also have a full gym (Braintree Athletic Club) they offer daily memberships at $7.00 a day. If nothing else, it's a great getaway for the dreary end of winter...
As a lot of us did at past gatherings, I recommend doubling, tripling and quadrupling up.
Saturday during the day you will be free to go sightseeing in Boston or do whatever you like. There is a wonderful shopping mall across the street from the Hotel.
It is a very reasonable car ride from PA, NJ, NY, CT, NH, VT, ME, MD, RI
If you are interested in flying into Boston you have three airports to choose from. The first one is Boston's Logan International Airport, the other two are located about an hour away from Boston. They are in Manchester, New Hampshire and Providence, Rhode Island (TF Green). There is a shuttle to the hotel from Boston's Logan Airport. - See Logan Express
Braintree is also on the T's red line (the T is Boston's rapid transit). The red line is accessible to South Station (where most Amtrak''s come into from the South.) The Tara (as it's known in the area) will gladly pick you up from the Quincy Adams T station.
Please feel free to bring your Significant Other, but children will not be allowed at the Friday night or Saturday night events. In addition the Boston area has a WEALTH of nearby attractions. In late March you're looking at doable weather for walking trips in Boston. Also historic Plymouth is only a 40 minute drive (the Plimoth Plantation and the Mayflower are there) And Quincy, the next town over is historically rich as well.

Topic: RE: I'm lost ~ Need some help
I have heard people having this problem before. I believe they call it a panniculectomy (where they remove that apron of skin)that they do, and will usually do a tummy tuck while they're at it. If you have lots of problems with infections it is likely that you can prove to your insurance that it is medically necessary. Good luck!
