Topic: RE: New Center of Excellence in Kansas!!!
Hello,
Dr. Hoehn did my surgery and I have been to several of the seminars. They sd that they would do the surgery if it was approved by medicare but they sd that they also have to factor in the persons health and age. They sd that they have had problems in the past getting acceptance for people who are older and on medicare. They are willing as long as a person can pass all the pre-op evals. They don't want to operate on someone who maynot live thru the surgery.
So far I don't feel like it has been "all about the money" with them. I am a self-pay person with no insurance and they have treated me like anyone else. It is just like anyone else preforming a service.
Topic: Website Help
A few years ago I found a website that had a list of all insurance providers that cover weight loss surgery and now I can't remember the name. Does anyone have any ideas, is it still around? Just got a new job/new insurance and was wondering if surgery is an option.

Hi,
Wanted to give you more information on Norman ,OK. It is called Oklahoma Weight Loss OPtions: Phone Numbers; 405-360-7100, or 800-599-8010. Their website is
www.owlo.com. Good Luck, it is sad that you have to look out of state. Addictics get more empathy in this state, than over weight people do. I know of two people that have gone there. One had ins. and she has lost 200 lbs. She said it was a good place. The other one is only about 3 months out, she was on medicaid and is doing well. I don't know how much she has lost at this point. Hope this is of some help. CB

this most likely is a provision setup by your employer. I am a state employee in the same boat..... check my other post above..... Sorry about this obstacle for you.

Paper test that takes 2 hours means you will likely be taking the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory aka MMPI. It is very boring because there is basically 20 questions on the damn thing but you must give over 500 yes or no answers. The questions are asked over and over in different wording. There is a method to their madness. Doing it this way makes the test virtually impossible to fake. Much of the time people who are taking the test either don't know or don't want the dr to know what is up with them. By looking at the results, the dr. will be able to tell pretty much everything about you. Spooky really.
