Topic: Hi from Wichita!
Hello all. My name is Tanya and I was wondering if anyone here had any experience with Tallgrass in Topeka. My husband is Air Force and Tallgrass is the closest covered provider for Tricare. If anyone has any experience with the center, docs or any advice to share I would certainly appreciate it. I am going this weekend to Topeka for my seminar. Thanks so much!

Topic: RE: Thinking about having Lap Band surgery and have a couple of questions!!!!!!!
Hi Tamara - There is a period of time that we call "Bandster hell" which refers to the time *after* you're healed (usually anywhere between 2-6 weeks postop) and the time that you've had enough fills that you have some good restriction (anywhere from 3-6 fills, on average). You can have some hunger during that time, but it is easily managed. Some people (of any surgery type) complain of having problems with "head hunger" which is like mourning the loss of food, but that can be dealt with as well. I can't say that I've ever had a problem with it, and I've been banded a year and four months. In fact, I'm relieved to feel some hunger at times, or I think I would forget to eat! LOL! Never thought I would say that!! Feel free to send me an email if you have more questions. There's a WLS support group in Hutch and I have a dear friend there that I could put you in touch with who also has a band. She would be glad to answer your questions too! Best of luck, ~Tiffany
