1. My name is Valena
2. I had a Lap RNY 5/3/2004
3. I weighed 325 as my high, weighed 312 when I went into surgery due that pesky one week liquid diet...this AM I weighed 167.5. I had stalled around 176, but got pregnant...my high while preggo was 191, weighed 164 when I got home. So for some reason that helped a bit!
4. I am cool where I'm at but I wouldn't mind 10 more pounds!!
5. I am still an emotional eater and I eat choco and drink pop and don't exercise!! I am GREAT at drinking water though!! ha ha ha
Dr. Steward at Tallgrass did my surgery in Topeka...I have read a few of you have him... he is AWESOME!!!

Topic: PCP/ Pediatrician Reccomendations?
Hello!
My name is Darrah. I had RYN just a few days over a year ago, and I'm fixing to have a baby any old day now (happened kind of fast after surgery). Anyway, my husband and I are moving back to the KC area (not sure if will be KS or MO side yet, but prolly Johnson Co. KS again) in mid May. I need a PCP that's familliar with RYN, and we'll need a pediatrician, because if ms. thing here isn't out on her own by April 13th, I'm being induced that day.
Any suggestions of who I should see or avoid?
Thanks and great to meet you all!
Topic: Would you be interested?
Hi Everyon
I live in the Pittsburg, KS area, and another lady I know that has had RNY and I would absolutely love to get a support group going in this area. I had my surgery in Junction City, and it's just too hard to drive 4 1/2 hours one way to attend a support group meeting. Keep in mind we don't want this meeting to be just post-ops...If you live in the area and want to attend, you would be very welcome!! I'd love to hear from anyone that would like to see a support group close to us. We're not sure when we can get this going, but I really feel that we need the support!!! I usually try to check in at least once a day, however, sometimes it might be 2 days before I can. I hope to hear from you all!!
Have a Great Evening!!
Hugs
Theresa

Hi Everyon
For any of you in the Pittsburg, KS area we have 3 different churches that offer this food program. They have a different menu each month, and I have done this on a few occasions, it's well worth the money!!

Topic: RE: online petition
Thanks for the advice. I aggree it should only be morbidly obese.
Actually this petition was something that I found online, I did not start the petition.
I do believe in workings small first. I have been in contact with all my local legislators. You can read the thread titled "Call for Action!" on this page if you want to read more about it.
I encourage everyone to contact our statehouse!

YES! Solutions for Life has them every Tuesday. They are at 6100 East Central, behind the Genesis building. 689-5235 I am pretty sure it is at 5:30. I did not have lap band, but Dr. Dort is now doing lap band here in Wichita, so I am sure they will welcome you. Let me know if you want a "buddy" to go with you!
