Topic: RE: Wichita Support Group
Solutions for Life has one every Tuesday (Dr. Early's group) so you might call them about a time. Also see the post below titled "support group" as we try to get together every once in awhile when I'm in Wichita. I've been trying to organize one for April 12, if you're interested!

Topic: update
Hi,
I see many of you on the lapband board. Glad to have the local support though! I have my consult scheduled for March 26. I am self-pay and have heard that most people have surgery 2-4 weeks after consult for self-pay. Any self-payers out there? I'd love to hear from your perspective if I haven't already. I feel obsessed with this surgery. I am on these boards every moment I possibly can. I feel like I can't get enough information. The boards are keeping me sane. I am quite sure my bf is glad I have found you all. It keeps him from hearing about it 24/7.
Thanks for posting!
AND
best of luck to this weeks bansters. Let us know how it goes. I'll say prayers for you!!!

Topic: RE: Need to find the right doc for me
I am a self pay and had went to Dr. Hoehn in Shawnee Mission, KS. His group is fantastic. I had the lapband and so for the surgeons fee and hospital fees it cost me $16,200. It includes 1 yr post op visits and fills, any bloodwork needed prior to surgery, ekg's, and any other testing you require, also post op blood work and testing if needed. For his program he does require you to see a phycologist and dietian before you are ok'd for surgery. Which I am so glad he had or I think I would be just messed up and not in the right place mentally. They also have support group once a month.

Well the surgery went very well. I got to come home on Saturday morning. Dr Steward was very nice and was VERY pleased with my fasting - said my liver was shrunk down and that makes surgery easier. I couldn't sleep much the first night because of the anesthesia but I slept better the 2nd night and last night I slept all night long. I am doing clear liquids now and can't wait for the next phase so I can feel a little full. I haven't had pain meds since the hospital... thank you for posting about Sherri and my surgery - that is very thoughtful!

Hi KD,
My surgery is this coming Tuesday and I am having it done by Dr. Nelson in Norman, Oklahoma at Norman Regional hospital. I am so excited that I am bouncing off the walls.
