Topic: RE: Looking for a support group
Hi! I just had the lapband surgery on Monday, 3/19, and I know that St. Luke's hospital is starting a support group soon. When I get the info I'll be happy to email it to you. Dr. John Price has just started doing Lapbands and RNYs at St. Luke's - Plaza and I was one of his first surgeries. I'd love to be part of an in-person support group. Sarah.

Topic: RE: KANSAS ROLL CALL!!
Hi! I had the lapband surgery on Monday, 3/19, and was self-pay. My surgeon uses BLIS, which is an insurance program for people who self-pay. It was an extra $2500 up front, but it sure gave me peace of mind. I was more afraid of the general surgery and potential problems from anesthesia than from the surgical procedure itself. It all went very smoothly, though, and I can't say enough good things about my doctor, John Price, his awesome staff or the hospital, St. Luke's Plaza. I'm surprised at how sore I am still (3 days post op) but I do feel a little better each day. Good luck!

I fully understand your rant, I get a little hot under the collar about it too. I question why these companies make the choices they do. No one can give me a reliable answer yet.

Hi Leslie - Welcome! I've always heard that our weight loss is a drop, then stop, drop, then stop kind of a process, as our bodies need time to adjust to our new lifestyle, eating habits, weight loss, etc. Hang in there, and I bet your weight loss will get going again. You're barely a month out! How are you feeling physically? Has that 18 pounds made a difference, that you can tell? And WELCOME to everyone above that I haven't responded to yet!! Its so fabulous to see so many of us coming out to say hi! Who new there were so many of us WLS folks in KS?? LOL!! ~Tiffany
