Topic: RE: IN PERU MIXED SURGERY ARE VERY CHEAP AND SUCCESSFUL .
This is very nice and sounds like a great surgeon and WL opportunity. I prefer to have my surgery with a local doctor who I will continue to build trust in before, during, and after WLS. This is a surgeon who I have built rapport with and knows my Health history. Also some surgeons may be optimistic about taking on patients who've had their surgeries by other physicians. Goodluck! No Thanks! Ps. I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for and personally would not sacrifice cheap fly by surgery, for my relationship with my surgeon, nutritionist, psychologist and any other specialist apart of my WL team and Health. God Bless! Tiawna

Topic: RE: Kansas Attorney?
this might be a dumb question..but what about the surgery do they need to know, or for what purpose do you need them? I know a great attorney, I think he does a bit of this or that, or might know of someone to refer to you.

Topic: RE: Where to get surgery
$2000?! That's nuts. Tallgrass in Topeka is a great place with excellent doctors. You must attend a seminar to get an appointment but that's true for almost all surgeons. The seminar is free. There are pre-op and post-op support groups too that are also free. The training is mostly watching a film called Emi. It's online and it's free. They do strongly recommend a book about the surgery written by someone who had it. I bought the book and it was full of useful information. Cost about $14 I think. I didn't have surgery there because Medicare changed the rules in the middle of things to where you have to go to a center of excellence if you want them to pay. Now they're a center of excellence too. My wife had her surgery done there by Dr. Dunshee. I had my gallbladder removed about 4 weeks ago by Dr. Berntsen. She's great. So is Dr Dunshee.

Topic: RE: Tallgrass Topeka anyone? Drs in Wichita?
I too had surgery at Tallgrass but with Dr. Steward, but I met with Dr. Hamilton - he did the initial seminar that you have to attend. He's very nice and personable. He has also had gastric by-pass (performed by my surgeon). So he know's what it is like to be overweight and in need of some help.... Amie
