Topic: RE: Dr Hamliton from Tallgrass
I went to the surgery seminar with the intention of getting a lapband. I hadn't heard about the sleeve. I'm self pay, and the sleeve was the same cost as the lap band, which is about $9K less than RNY. Also, with the sleeve, there are no appts. for band fills and such, it just seemed preferable all around.
I've lost 56 pounds and would definitely say the sleeve is working for me!
Good luck.

Dr. Hamilton performed my RNY 5-5-10 he is wonderful... I actually requested him because he also performed my aunts RNY almost 2 years ago...He has been through it personally so it's easy to talk with him and know that he truly understands... Goodluck I'm sure it will go great for you too!

Dr. Hoehn did my sleeve April 20th. Great experience! No worries.

Thank you for the information. What made you decide to go with the sleeve and not RNY? Is the sleeve working for you?

Dr. Hamilton did my sleeve procedure in June. He's great. He's had RNY himself so he understands a lot of what we're going through. Highly recommend!
Good luck!

I'm starting my journey and have an appointment in a week with Dr. Hamilton at the Tallgrass clinic. I would like to know if there is anyone out there that has worked with him. What is he like?

I'm getting my sleeve done with Dr. Hoehn on Sept 8. So far everything has been speedy and everyone has been very helpful. I am self-pay and so it will literally be two months from the time I went to the info session to the day of my surgery.
Topic: RE: BCBS of KS
It's determined by each policy not by insurance company. It is less expensive to have that exclusion in it. If your policy has a bariatric exclusion then you are not covered. I have BCBS of KS and my policy covered it. I also work for a bariatric surgeon and we have a large volume of patients with coverage with BCBS of KS. Call the customer service number on the back of your insurance card and ask if your policy covers bariatric surgery, that way you will know for sure.
Hope this is helpful and good luck,
Connie
