Topic: RE: Have a Date For My Abdomnioplasty
Wow! how exciting for you. I am jealous. You are so much farther along than me but we do have the date in common. That is the day I have my RNY surgery in Junction City, KS. I am pretty nervous and hoping I am making the right decision. I am self pay and this is just one more thing to worry about. How much weight have you lost? Do you have any other areas you would like to have 'done'?

Topic: Have a Date For My Abdomnioplasty
I am so happy!!!! Tuesday I went for my consultation with my plastic surgeon, and came home with a date for my surgery. It is actually more than an abdomioplasty, he is also going to do a mons repair at the same time. I was very impressed with Dr. Lawerence in Kansas City, KS. He told me couldn't guarantee perfection, I told him I didn't expect perfection, I only expect better. He patted me on the back, and told me he would guarantee me much much better.
April 21st is my day!!! At this point I feel like it's going to drag by. I hope it goes by quickly, I am so ready to get this done!!!
Wish me luck and keep me in your prayers.
Hugs
Theresa

I also used LivLite in Junction City. Dr. Bollman was wonderful!! I switched to them from another facility that couldn't get their stuff together due to all kinds of delays. I called them and they took over right away and got it done. I also can't say enough good stuff about the nursing staff at Geary Community Hospital. They were all extremely nice and many of them had already been through the surgery themselves so they truly understood what you were going through. I have recommended them to others and they too have had a good experience with them. Good luck.
Topic: RE: MEDICAID AND MEDICARE SURGEONS LIST!
I know of Dr Hornbostel in Sedalia , Missouri, working out of surgical services of sedalia and or bothwell regional health center. He and the hospital accept MEDICARE I do not know about medicaid, they are a center of excellence, medicare approved. Sedalia is only maybe an hour from kansas city , maybe less.

Topic: RE: Desperately Need Info!!!
Tallgrass has you jump through a million hoops to just get a first appointment with a doctor! I didnt like them at all!
I went with LivLite...they have a informational meeting at the hospital on March 13th...just call them for the time. My surgeon was Dr Hashem...if you get him be prepared to work really really hard! He is STRICT, but its for your own good and so you have the best results possible!
I have tricare (active duty spouse). You have to be at least 100 pounds overweight, have a co-morbitiy like diabetes, sleep apnea, etc, and have been on a medically supervised diet for at least 3 months. All of these things MUST be documented in medical records which can be sent to Tricare. Call LivLite..they will send paperwork for you to fill out and release of information. They will deal with Tricare for you. Once you are approved they will set up your appointment with Flint Hills Surgical Gorup (Dr Hashem, Dr Bollman, Dr Narsico) Dr Hashem is the only one that does Laproscopic RNY...the others only do open. Depending on your phsyical with them they will tell you which one will work for you. Dr Hashem will put you on a strict liquid diet for at least 3-4 weeks before surgery.
Let me know if you need anything else...

Topic: RE: Loans for procedures
You probably had this question answered way before now, but just in case... I went through surgeryloans.com to get my financing. They have worked with Tallgrass before, and it really was a pretty simple process to line everything up. I know that other people have used home equity loans to pay for the procedure too, but I decided not to go that route. Tallgrass has some information about this - I'm pretty sure that's where I got the info about surgeryloans.com. I had lapband in mid-October through Tallgrass (Dr. Berntsen) and have had a great experience. Good luck!
