Topic: RE: Anyone have WLS at Junction City?
I went through LivLite in Junction City and had an open RNY with Dr. Bollman with Flint Hills Surgical Clinic in August 2007. He was absolutely great. Afterwards, I referred a co-worker to LiveLite and she underwent a laproscopic RNY with Dr. Hachem (also with Flint Hills Surgical) last month. She has told me she was also very happy with her treatment at Junction City. The staff at Geary Community Hospital was very good to me and my family. They were very friendly and many of the nurses had been through the same procedure so they were very open, honest and informative on what I could expect to happen after I went home. In my opinion, Dr. Bolllman goes the extra mile. He was very knowledgable, courteous and made me feel very comfortable throughout the whole process. I had gotten to the point I hated to go to the doctor because they always blamed everything on my weight and would lecture me. He didn't do that. His attitude is to look forward and make a change in your life instead of dwelling on what didn't work before. I highly recommend LiveLite and the surgeons at Flint Hills Surgical. Best of luck to you.

Hi there! I am about 1 month pre-op and was wondering if anyone has had/will have surgery at this site. Please share your experiences and what surgeion you used. Anything will be appreciated. Would love some first hand info. Thanks Vicki

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm doing my best to stay away from carbs--they make me sick and sleepy. But those protein shakes are NASTY! lol

Way to go...12 pounds before WLS is just great. Some of the toughest weight I lost included those pre-op pounds. Okay, truly, these last 15 pounds are giving me a run for my money.
Just keep working it, and avoid carbs as much as you can. Keep those protein levels up there too to avoid hunger and you will continue to do great. Had I known those two things before WLS, I could have lost more than the 36 I did.
You can do this...just stay focused. Your surgery is just around the corner and anything you can get off before is just that much better afterwards....look at this as a jumpstart.
Best wishes.

Topic: just checking in....
Hey, everyone! Just checking in--been absent from this board a few weeks. I am so sick of thinking about my weight and had to take a break. I'm trying hard to watch portions and stick to one helping, etc. Maybe it's working--I'm down by 12 lbs in a couple months. Pretty soon I'll have lost just enough to not qualify for surgery by BMI but not enough to make a difference. Frustrating...

They also have a facility in Wichita. Are you having your surgery in Overland Park or Wichita?

Thanks. I have heard a lot of great things about Tallgrass. However I live 5 hours from Topeka so Tallgrass is not an option for me.
