EGD is a scope the send down your throat before surgery to look at things in your stomach. Make sure things look okay. Patience is a virtue I do not have either. EGD Friday Labwork and anesthesiologist interview Monday May 5th 2nd consult before surgery Monday May 12th Surgery Monday May 19th   YAY!!!

Wow.......a weight loss of over 50 lbs is very good.  We're all going to have a set back here or there at some point on our journey - the most important thing is you're still heading in the right direction. WLS is a new journey in our lives not the destination.  Some of the roads on this journey will be straight, smooth, easy to travel, etc., and other roads won't be as easy.  The important thing to remember is we have a very powerful tool we didn't have before to help us get back on track.  Sounds like you're doing a great job.....keep up the good work, 'k!    ~Cindy

 Cindy Thanks for asking . I will be one year out on May14. I have lost over 50 lb. Now that isn't has good has some but I have almost completely gone off my type 2 diabetes medicine. Down to 1 pill did take 5  . I kind of sabatoged myself and gained 10 lb after christmas . But I lost that in 2 weeks after a fill. I know I could do better but I do not work out like i should.   I am totally happy with the way things are except for the one set back ,( I didn't stay out of the christmas candy till it was gone )  My fault . I really believe there is not a better Dr. than Hoehn. Please keep me in formed and may God be with you on your journey of WLS   Paul

Cindy, I talked to Nola today and she did mention they are very busy in the office right now. I did hear them mention phone calls for follow ups are getting postponed for a few extra days because they are busy dealing with insurance agencies.. The way to look at this is at least you will know they are working on your insurance approval since they are not busy all day on the phone with people going" what do I do now?" If you have that question I think the best answer is to wait a week and try calling again. they are getting the messages just not taking the time to call people back. As for care after surgery... They are calling those people back. Peace of mind for getting calls after the surgery. Best of luck. I'll be having my EGD on Friday at 9 am then I will meet wit DR Hoehn one last time before surgery. 20 MORE DAYS!

I think this is the number I have been calling - Everytime I have pressed 2 I've ALWAYS gotten a recording........maybe I'm calling at the wrong time - I will try pressing 0 next time and see what happens.   I just got a call from Dr. Sabapathy this afternoon and he went over my test results - he said he didn't see any problems w/me having surgery so he was going to email the Dr's office and let them know to they can proceed on getting insurance approval......hmmmm.....wonder how long that will take.
