Small useless update on surgical centers of excelence

I spoke with Pam at Liv Lite in Junction City today. They have met the criteria for the center of excelence stuff. They just need an on site inspection. However, Medicare made this new rule without warning so now everybody is wanting to get the rating at the same time. The waiting list is 4-6 months for this inspection. I haven't talked to anyone at Tall Grass in Topeka recently. I might call them tomorrow. I am still working on going to Oklahoma but it is basicly starting all over again. No doctor wants to acept the judgment of another it seems and they make you start all over. I have convinced them to let me skip the seminar again, but only if I watch a film instead. There is a back log for getting this film so I'm waiting.

Fingers are crossed!! And toes too!! LOL What type of surgery are you all considering? There are several surgeons around the KC/Topeka area, but I don't know if any of them can bill Medicare. Just a suggestion....keep us posted on the progress! ~Tiffany

Tallgrass does take Medicare...once they are approved. I know several who went there with it.

Hi Alice, I just wanted to share with all; I had to go to Topeka and decided to speak with Rochelle while there. Well I did, she is so sweet and was very accommodating even though I had no appointment and just popped in. The whole "vibe" I get from the receptionist etc. is a very good one. I needed to see another doctor for another reason. Anyhow, I just wanted to say that I really think they were very nice and I am planning on going to a meeting as soon as I can. Well I just received an email back from Pam and she said: there are many processes to be developed before an inspection can be scheduled. We work daily on these processes. That does not sound like they are close to me.
