Just Approved for Lap Band

Hello, I was just approved for my lap band through my insurance. I am going to Dr. Hoehn at Shawnee Medical Center. I have my first consult on Monday. I'm excited and nervous. I have never been under general anesthesia before and it makes me very nervous. Just thought I would say hi! I can't wait to get this done and start my new life! Jennifer

HI Good to hear there is another lap-bander in Kansas- there aren't a whole lot around the Hutchinson area. I am one of the few here- I had mine done at Surgical Weight loss in Overland Park. I have not heard of the Dr. you mentioned. A friend of mine in Independence Mo mentioned it to me. I just wasn't up for bypass surgery. Good luck. I have lost 50 pounds and love my band. I think you made a good decision. I feel so much better- and am in the best shape I have been in years. The surgery is really not bad at all- I was uncomfortable- the worse part is not having anything to drink afterwards. I was not in much pain at all- it's all worth it. Take care, Cheryl-
