Had my first psych evaluation today
Debra, Dr. Abbott is really nice. Thanks for telling me to have all of my dieting adventures written out. She liked that. She asked me all kinds of questions about my dieting. We were getting into the health issues and she just stopped abruptly. And said she would see me again at my next visit.
She never said anything about keeping a food diary.
Debra, have you gone to any of the post-op support group meetings. I guess when you have your surgery date set you can start going to the meetings, even though you are preop. That is what Rachelle told me.
Also, Dr. Abbott said those meetings were very important.
It sure was fun getting to the office. They have the roads blocked off more and I do believe I was going down the wrong lane there for a bit. I cut in between some cones to get on the right side. Very confusing. I think if you can maneuver that road mess you can handle anything. LOL
Thanks everybody for listening.

Hi, Mickey!
I'm glad you like Dr. Abbott.I knew you would do fine.Maybe you won't have to keep track of what you eat.
I haven't went to any of the support meetings yet.We were going but something came up so we didn't make it.I don't think the meetings are required, but I have heard you learn alot from the post-op groups.I'm going to try to make it to one.My husband only gets Saturday off,so it's hard to get there,we have so much else going on.
My sister-in-law goes in for her surgery this Thursday,so I'm anxious to see how she comes out.We both decided to go thru this together,to help support each other.I hope everything goes well for her.
I know that road is a pain trying to figure it out!! Deb
does your sister-in-law live around here? And if so which Dr. is doing her surgery?
That is good you will have somebody to go through this with.
I explained to Dr. Abbott about my husband's insurance changing after the first of the year. She seemed to understand why I was concerned. I just don't know if I could afford it, if I had to pay out much. My husband took early retirement from his job and we live on a limited income. I don't want him to have to go to work just to pay for this. And I don't really feel like I should have to if I can get this approved before the end of the year. Hopefully, things should get to rolling here in the next couple weeks.
Dr. Berntsen said UHC usually approves in a couple weeks. But it has to get sent off to them. LOL
I don't like waiting around for people to do paperwork. LOL If it was me it would have been sent off weeks ago. LOL
Patience, Mickey, Patience!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for writing back. It is nice to have this website to have someone to talk to.
