Let's Wake Up This Board !!!
Okay now, what is going on here? Come on folks... I know I know, schools are starting up everywhere so alot of folks are busy with this but hey, there are still alot of folks out there that are researching this wonderful "journey", procedure, and they need OUR help.. so come on now and post what is going on with you and where are you in this journey we have undertaken...
Okay okay, I know, I have not posted much either.. so have given myself a slap with a "wet noodle" ha ha ha ha ha Today was great and this has been a good weekend.. we had a terrific support meeting in Topeka at St. Francis Hospital and everyone enjoyed the demonstration our leader gave and the help from each one and encouragement.
Personally, I have lost another pound.. one pound you say? well yes, but hey, each OUNCE is a victory to me, especially since I am almost two years out.. will be two years on Sept. 15.. my my my how time does fly by.. am grateful for these two wonderful years and with the help of each and every one of you and with my surgeons, and of course hubby, (he might read this ) ha ha ha ha, there will be many many more years to celebrate.. so let's hear a rah rah rah.... Now then, how are YOU doing? ... Whether good or bad, we all want to hear from you all..
Wishing everyone a great day.. and if you are checking this surgery out, best wishes to you and a safe and happy journey on this road.. and if you are already headed down the weight loss highway, good luck and best of everything to you.. Thinking of each one.. you are all friends I haven't met yet.. Catch ya later and hugs to one and all, Fran
Hi Fran, I know I am guilty too. I am really involved with the "Over 50 forum" but was trying to check in here every day too. Lately I would check in and nothing was posted, so I went about my business, rather than post myself. I will try harder to keep in touch on this side too.
I had a minor set back in June, needing to have an incisional hernia repair. I swear, recoveryfrom that has been harder for me than the RNY!! I guess because I was feeling so much better and had been mor active, that slowing down again was NOT an option!!! But Now I am feeling GREAT again. I am down to 286 (from 430) in just 9 months! I have a long way to go, even though I have not set a personal goal. I think it will be around 150 though, so I am half way there. I have been regularry attending Support group in Junction City, but am thinking about joining the one at St. Francis next winter to cut down on the drive time. Are outsiders allowed?
The members of the OFF board are planning a get together in New Orleans in Januray, I can't wait to meet them all. Perhaps we should plan a Kansas get together!! I have often asked OH to schedule one of their Weekend Conferences in Kansas or Missouri, but have not seen that happen yet. I did attend one in Minneapolis last year, and it was great, loads of information.
Good luck to everyone and yes, lets shake up this board!!
Joan
