It took me nearly 6 months, not for all the required tests, but for the insurance company to approve the surgury. I really pushed to get appointments as fast as I could, but it was mostly the insurance company that drug its feet.

I talked with one of the directors today and they said to plan on 6 mos. I have already talked with the insurance company and they were very helpful. In fact they told me who to contact to get started. Thanks for your reply.

Hello There Well I live here in El Dorado and it took me only a few short months ( four to be exact ), to get this approval and all for the roux-en-y.. had the surgery in Topeka at the Tall Grass surgical.. St. Francis Hospital in Topeka was my place to be.. fantastic.. so darn happy and have a totally new life.. And attend the support meetings the second saturday of each month.. the meetings are totally free and well worth the beautiful drive up there.. The folks are all like real family and so kind and wonderful to each other.. yep, this is the way I chose to go.. Did consider the Via Christi way but am so glad that after alot of comparisons, this was the way for me.. good luck in whatever choice you make.. Happy Kansas Sunshine Day, Fran

I am a dependent (spouse) of a Via Chisti employee and our insurance will cover it, but it has to been done using thier program. So I guess I have no choice but to give it a try. Thanks for the information, I am looking for all the information I can get. It is a Frantastic day.

mike, was wondering how long did it take you from the time you went to the seminar to the time you were approved?
