Hoping to have a revision.
Hi all my name is Stephanie and I had wls in 1993 and lost down to 155 pounds. I am ashamed to say that I have gained it all back and then some so I am now at my highest weight ever of 300 pounds. I stumbled across this website by accident and did not know I could have surgery again. I cannot remember what type of surgery I had, so I am waiting for the hospital to get the information for me and then I am going to call the nice folks in Junction City back and they will be able to tell me if I will be able to have a revision or not. I am praying that they will be able to help me get this weight off once and for all. I am so very happy reading everyone's story of how they are losing weight. Keep up the good work!
Stephanie
I am so proud of you for taking this step to restore your health. I had my RNY in Junction City and let me tell you, they are the best. The hospital is clean, well staffed with caring and compassionate staff. My RNY was last November and I was just admitted for a Hernia repair. Most of the nursing staff and aids were still on staff, which in this day and age of rapid turn-over is a true testiment to a good organization. Both Drs Bolleman and Stevens are excellent. I hope this works out for you. Keep me posted, not too much activity on this board, but I check in daily.
Welcome to this wonderful board.. Folks are not on as much as they used to be.. but guess it has to do with the summer vacations and all..
Had my surgery in Topeka at St.Francis Hospital with Dr Berntsen and Dr Steward.. They are with Tall Grass and so wonderful.. Was a great success with the Roux-en-Y and the second saturday of each month (that being this coming saturday the 9th) they have an informational support meeting at ST. Francis Hospital and the surgeons are in attendance.. and they answer ANY and ALL questions and help to get this surgery done.. they do revisions as needed and can tell you if you are a candidate for this.. The meetings are all FREE and everyone is welcome.. so pack up the car and head on up to Topeka.. it is a really nice drive and fun... .
I had surgery .. let me think.. oh yes, two years this coming September and have lost a grand total of 143 pounds now.. feeling great and looking even better..
Dont get discouraged hon.. so glad you have decided to take care and look into further care.. you can do this !!! Just investigate and check all the stories and facts.. So happy for you to make this life changing decision.. I know this surgery has saved my life and no more wheelchair for me.. walking and (almost) running and able to work in my own veggie garden.. life is sooooooooo good.. Keep a happy thought and good luck hon.. If you need anything please feel free to contact.. I see you are in Wichita so not far from me here.. Anything I can do, will be glad to help. Have a good day.. Hugs to you, Fran
Well I was finally able to get my medical records today at 4:30 and now I will have to wait until Monday before I can call and see if I can get a revision. Oh by the way for those wanting to know what surgery I had it was a vertical banded gastroplasty and it was done in 1992. I wish I would have paid attention and not let food get the best of me so that I am in this predictament again. Sighhhh.
