I am in Wichita Kansas I need support and help

Hello I am so tired and depressed ! I am exhusted and I just do not know how to get started. I have a state medical card. I am on 11 kinds of medicines. My diebetes is out of control with medication. I am depressed! any chance that I could get the D/S WLS surgery in Kansas on amedical card anyone out there that can help me? I have several compications. skeltal, vision, Kidneys and heart. Welcome to this board.. well now.. have no "real" answers for you but do have a wonderful suggestion.. there is a support/informational group in Topeka at ST. Francis Hospital on Saturday July 9th.. it is for the Gastric Bypass and the surgeons conduct this meeting and then give out the folders that tell you what to do. There is alot of help there and info regarding who covers what.. You are free to ask questions and meet with surgeons, at that time.. it is wonderful.. Nice drive and enjoyable company.. anyone can come so pack up the car and head on up there.. Topeka is really NOT far at all.. we drive it all the time too.. Meeting starts at 10 a.m. and you will have lots of company.. There is the pre-op meeting and then the post-ops come in and tell how much this has helped each one.. I too, had alot of medical problems and was even in a wheelchair but now, after having the Roux-en-y, am up and walking and 143 pounds lighter and able to do so much.. a whole new life... yahoo.. Hey hon, sorry to hear about the problems you've been having! I too, am in Wichita, KS. You should call the Wesley Hospital Weight Loss Surgery coordinator, Tracy Mooney-Simon at 316-962-2066. Here is their website: http://www.wesleymc.com/CustomPage.asp?PageName=Surgical%20Weight%20Loss She will help you get set up to attend the Weight Loss Program orientation that Wesley/Via Christi hold together. They will send you out a packet to fill out. They will also contact your insurance company after you go to the orientation and find out if your insurance company will cover gastric bypass. Or, you can contact Liv-Lite in Junction City, KS. This is who I plan to use, even though I went to the orientation for Wesley Hospital. They have you fill out a packet and then they contact your insurance to see if your insurance will cover YOU for the surgery, not just if they cover it, and THEN they commence with their program. This way you know right away if you should go ahead with the program or not, which is not something Wesley/Via Christi do for you.
