New to this.....any advice welcome

My husband and I have tried everything to lose weight. It has now begun to affect our health and employment. Can anyone tell me where to go for help. We both have an Aunt that has had the surgery (both with great reports). I am afraid insurance is going to be the biggest hurdle. Any advice in all of that....We have Preferred Plus of Kansas HMO plan. Anyone on the plan have success????

I didn't have that insurance, But I would set up a consult with a surgeon. Many of their offices can advise you about insurance, and many will do all the paperwork for you. I went wit LivLite in Junction City, and they did ALL the battle with the insurance. I just jumped all the hoops as they told me to. Good luck

I am from El Dorado too and had this wonderful surgery... went to Topeka to see Dr. Steward and Dr. Berntsen at Tall Grass Surgical.. they have a support and informational meeting the second saturday of each month at St. Francis Hospital.. it is wonderful and the office does all the work on getting the approval from the insurance company... do give them a try and if you need ANY help at all, feel free to contact me.. glad to help anytime... anytime... Thanks for the advice. I called our insurance and it is a no go. I even called LivLite and the man said he couldn't help us at all unless we get a different insurance. How do people just get a different insurance. Insurance is so blessed expensive anyway. Any advice on how to get new insurance is what I need now. Laura

did you call LiveLite in Junction City? the main 800 number is in California and i found them to be of no help and not accurate with info that pertains to the group in Junction City! I have had 100 o/o satisfaction with the staff in Jct. City, they will help if there is any way! DO keep seeking... i journeyed for over 3 years around the idea of having surgery, now i am only 10 days away and looking forward to a NEW LIFE. Good Luck! Anita
