Bonnie Kanode
Hi all, this is my first writing to everyone. I found out how to go about all of this by talking to another couple in town who have already been there and done that. Jack and Heather Wagner and thank you so much for helping. They told all about what to expect and who to get ahold of, showed me their scars, and Jack took me and my husband to our first seminar. We have been to several now. Everyone has been very helpful, the ins people and Drs and even some nurses were at the seminars. Patty Maycroft and Pam Weeks took care of the ins and helped set up appts. I've been reading whatever I can about wls and I have had all of my prelimanery work done(boy, are they thorough) except to do a cardiac challenge at this time. Currently I walk with a cane so they thought it would be better to do the medicinally induced test instead of the treadmill thing. This will take place on April 12 & 13 and I have to talk to the cardialogist on April 28. My surgery is set up at this time on May 2nd at 10:00 am and I am really starting to get nervous. I just keep telling myself that this is something I have to do and even though I'm scared to death I really want to do. I have been overweight my whole life but didn't really get big until I had kids, just never could loose it after that. I would really enjoy hearing from some of you. I wish anyone else well that is still in the process of going through the surgery.
Hi Bonnie! This state board is pretty quiet these days, but I try to check in regularly. Congratulations on your decision to have WLS. I woun't lie to you and tell you it is a easy road to travel, but the results are magnificient. I also went through the process with LivLite in JC and I don't know which surgeon you will have, but Dr Stevens is the greatest. I am sure Dr Boleman is too, they do the surgeries together. I am almost 6 months out now and down bout 90 pounds. If you have anyquiestions feel free to ask away. I participate mostly on the OFF board (Over fifty board, because it is more active). But like I said, I try to check in here regularly too.
Good LUck!!

PS, My grandparents lived in St. Marys, so I know Wamego well, they would take me to play at the windmill all the time! One of my fineset childhood memories.
