Hello I am wondering if there is anyone out therer that has problems like I have had. I had RNY in 2002, and these past 2 yrs I have been in and ou t of the hospital sooo many times! I go into the ER for several abdominal/ bloating and pain.... I have found out that a small bowel obstruction can "work itself out" . After having my gall bladder and apendix out and every test I can think of.....I most recently....had surgery a month ago at SMMC Dr Hoehn did exploritory surgery that was their last hope......and really didn't find anything , some extra skin like adhesions....but after today.....I am having the same pain....taking miralax....if I get constipated then that could put me back in the hospital. I am so tired of being sick.. It stems from the food I eat....so a GI Dr told me to be on a low residue /low fiber diet...that has helped some what. I just need to know if there is anyone else out therer that has these problems.....they don't know what to do with me when I go to the hospital so they admidt me for about 4 days.....and do one test a day...I am soooo frustrated!! I thought it was all over until todays pain....I am drinking tons of water and going for a walk......that will help a littel....but usually I have to not eat anything ( on an IV in the hospital ) for about 3 days.....then the pain goes away. also I have had several colonoscopies.........still they find nothing. If there is any one out there that has had complications...or similar stomach pain...please write me back [email protected], thank you! Ps....They never take an exray or cat scan when I am in pain because they have to wait my turn in the ER ...or I have to wait for 24 hrs to not have had anything to eat to do tests.....

I know mine is not nearly as bad as yours. I had had 8 strictures and several Gi tests that kept coming back normal. I am scheduled for the exploratory surgery on May 8. How was your recovery from that? My doctor thinks maybe there is a blockage where they tunnel the intesitnes thorugh each other in our surgery. I have never been readmitted to the hospital though and I am able to eat and drink. Sorry to hear yours is such a struggle. Email me if you want to comiserate some more!! Alice
