Needing your Input
Hi,
I am in the process of finding a doctor. I went to one, but due to my wonderful insurance I can not go threw him because it will only pay for him and not the hospital cost. Which being a single parent there's no way I can do that. However, I was referred to Dr. Opie's office. My question is has anyone out there used Dr. Opie? I have heard good things but I want to just get others input as well.
Thanks,
Michelle
Hi Michelle,
I was Dr Opie's second bypass surgery. I was nervous as his bariatric practice was new, however as soon as I met him and read about the program he had in place before he ever did a single bariatric surgery, I was VERY impressed. He is a very kind and thourough surgeon. I had my surgery on August 18, 2003, I have lost 155 pounds and I have never felt better in my life. As I said he has a very good program set up from pre-care to after care. If you would like to know more and meet some of his past and future patients, we have a support group that meets once a month, the next one is this Thursday evening, October 21 in the doctors building 1, room 304 right next to the Olathe Hospital. Just the fact that some of his bariatric patients include nurses that work with him at Olathe Hospital says a lot to me. Again, we would love to have you come and check everything out, he attends most of the meetings. Feel free to e-mail me from my profile if I can answer any other questions. I try to check the site every day, however, I work full time, go to school, belong to a choir at church and basically don't have time to post as often as I would like.
