PANNICULECTOMY

I have just been denied for my panniculectomy. Insurance approved the hernia repair but denied the panniculectomy. Does anyone have any words of encouragement. An example appeal letter would be nice also. The doctor says the hernia repair will not hold with out the panniculectomy. I am irrated and sad .

Melissa, I can't help much, I am just beginning the PS/Hernia repair journey myself. I know that key words include reconstrution and excessive life inhibiting skin removal. I know that strong letters from the PS and Bariatric surgeon are beneficial. What PS are you using? Is Dr. Udobi doing the hernia repair? I have several hernias, haven't been to the Dr. yet, but I know if can count 3 at least. You have done so very very well, I'm so proud of you!!! Keep up the fight, and keep me posted.
