11 days post op!

Made it through surgery well, and was doing so well Dr. Stevens let me go home a day early. In 4 days I will get my stiches and tube out!! I can't wait! Been feeling better, but still sore. Did anyone else have problems with pain around their tube? Sometimes I have pain when I try to bend at all, or straighten out my binder. It's sharp pain. And I have it taped down like they had it at the hospital, so not sure why it's giving me troubles now. Anyways.. just a short post. Kandi

Hey Kandi...Glad to hear you're at home and doing well!!! That darn G-tube SUCKS!!!! I called it the "CAT TOY" It's uncomfortable...you might just be feeling the pull of the stiches around it...it will probably get really yucky and gooey...just keep it clean..I used ALOT of peroxide and kept turning it a litttle so my skin wouldn't adhere to it(kinda like new ear piercing) If the pain is really concerning you call the Doc...that's what he's there for!!!! Deanna~ I just read your profile...I laughed, I cried, I cheered! Thank you for being such an inspiration to me as a pre op. My gosh...you have lost over 200 POUNDS!!!!!!!!!!! Right On! And as if that wasn't enough, God has blessed you with a child. Your life must be so amazingly satisfying right now. Thanks for the uplifting messages that you always post. I am a fan. Hi Kandi, Just wanted to post even though i am from Texas. I used to live in Kansas...Cimarron to be exact. I like to look on the Kansas board to see if there is anyone i will know. About the question....I called it the ball and chain. It would hold me down if i didn't pay attention to it. I was sore when i got home with it. Even getting out of bed or off the sofa hurt. The hardest part for me was when i was taking a shower and it pulled at my stitches. It will start oozing and gooing throughout the day and it is kind of freaky but all will be good.
