Moving to Tennesse
Hi Everyone:
I finally have five minutes to myself and figured i'd better catch those of you who know me and might be interested up on what's been going on in my life.
First off, I am six months out and down 88#'s. It's been pretty slow but steady and I am not worried. It's coming off easier then ever before so I'm definitly happy about that, and the thing is I'm so busy LIVING that I don't stress over every pound like I did dieting post-op. I still work out at Curves five days a week and LOVE it. I don't know who or why ppl have this surgery and then refuse to excersice. Isn't part of what made me fat to begin with my lack of physical activity? I know I won't ever make that mistake again. I love working out and my days suck when I can't fit it in! I am also wearing a size 16-18 now depending on what it is. It still amazes me that I am not wearing size 28-30! What a great feeling!
Second: I am moving to Tennessee -- Monday, March 7th. I am both very excited and scared! But, I feel this is the best move for my family and myself. I want to finish school so bad and out here in Western Kansas we don't have many options (Nursing, Business, Education) all of which I don't see myself doing. My mother and sister live in Nashville so this seemed like the most logical place to go to "start over."
I will definitly find a support group in Nashville to attend. I can't tell you all how much your love and support has meant to me over the past 6-9 months. Deanna, Sharon, Jan ----- > I COULD NOT HAVE DONE THIS WITHOUT YOU ALL! THANK YOU SO MUCH. I know I haven't been very good at keeping in touch with the three of you these past couple of months. I promise that once things get settled i'll get back on track!
Love and Blessings,
Dawn
Dodge City -- soon to be NASHVILLE, TN
Hi Dawn,
Saw that you were from Dodge City, KS. I used to live in Cimarron KS until me and my husband moved to Houston Texas. I know what you mean when there are not that many jobs up there or opportunties. That is why we left. Now i work at NASA so that is great coming from a small rural area. My mother and father work in Dodge City. I would like to ask you a question. What kind of testing do you have to go through up there to get approved for the surgery? I have been approved for my surgery down here, but my mother is scared to death of it. I have been trying to tell her that everything is Okay and that i have done my research on it and this is something i want. But she just gets upset with it. I had to go through testing as of pulmologist, physcriatrist, nutritionist, UPPER GI, sleep study and a few more. Is that the normal procedure for up there or not?
If you could please email me at my address of [email protected]
Thanks
Marti
