Trouble Brewing??
HI Everybody! I hope everyone is doing well! I have a bit of concern for what my current behavior is showing. Its too long to type out in chat, so I thought I would post instead. Here's what's going on with me:
I'm 18 days Post. Home scale shows a -26# But I do like Jenni R does. Lose for a couple days, a couple pounds, then stall for 3 days or so.
My eating behavior has me concerned and I don't know if I'm doing it wrong or right. I log everthing I do onto FITDAY.COM so I keep good track. But it goes like this:
7:00am I get up, dress, and have 20oz of SF Koolaid in 30 mins.
8:00am I eat breakfast. Either 1 serving (1 egg) Eggbeaters OR 2 oz. Cottege Cheese. I finish this in about 15 mins.
9:00am another 20oz sf koolaid
10:30am Mid Morning Snack - Usually 'Carb Control' yogurt. Sometimes a piece of cheese or 2 oz of Cottege cheese
11:00 I START another 20oz bottle of sf koolaid and quit at 11:45 for
LUNCH at noon: Having a hard boiled egg, mashed with 1tsp lite mayo and 2 Tablespoons mustard.
1:00 still sipping on that 3rd bottle of SF koolaid
NAP TIME 1:30 - 3:30
3:30 Finish that 3rd bottle of sf koolaid
4:00 Snack Either Cottege cheese, yogurt, or Cream of Ckn Soup. By this time I'm starting to get REAL REAL HUNGRY. The longer the day goes on the more hungry I seem to become.
6:00pm DINNER TIME (here is some trouble brewing) Tonight for example, I had 1 oz of fresh cooked to mush Asperagus, 1 3oz salmon patty, and 1 Tablespoon no sugar added Fruit ****tail. AND I WAS NOT STUFFED!
I also sip on water inbetween. NEVER drinking with food or 15 mins proior or 45 mins after.
8:30 pm Chocolate Protien Shake with 30g Protien.
Then sip water until bed.
I feel like I'm always eating, but always hungry at the same time. The longer the day goes on, the more hungry I become. Breakfast and Lunch seem easy but dinner - that's TOUGH!!!
I am so afraid that eating like this is going to cause me to fail! Now understand, I STILL don't eat as much as my 4 yr old does in one sitting, but I'm pretty sure I COULD!
I battle HEAD hunger through the morning and afternoon - always opening and looking in the Fridge and I KNOW it's head hunger. But from 4:00pm onward - it feels like REAL HUNGER and I mean I'm STARVING!
Today is the first time I have added a veggie because I'm a bit constipated and wanted the fiber. I picked Asperagus because its low carb.
Fitday.com says I'm getting between 4oo & 600 calories, 14-35g Carbs and 50-60g Protein.
I really and truly did not think I would be eating so much this soon!
Please send GUIDANCE my direction to help. OH... BTW: I've JUST been put on Soft Mussy Food (for the next 4 weeks). Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
Debbi,
You are doing fine....your food consumption sounds right on track. And so does your weight loss. I will tell you that at about your time frame, I could eat more than I could a week or two later. So you may find, like I did, that you can actually eat less soon than you can eat now...part of that was due to adding more dense protein to my diet..I found I filled up on that real fast. Do realize that it is common to hit a major stall about 3 weeks out....you might not, but be prepared....I'm talking more than a week, even 10 days or more. It was a huge disappointment to me and scared the dickens out of me but I soon realized that the stalls were part of it just as much or more than the losses.
One thing I do.....I have my protein shake in the morning....it is my breakfast. I do that so that I can get a good jump on the fluid consumption....in other words, I don't have to "stop drinking" to have my breakfast....then just keep downing the liquid. The other thing is that that high amount of protein will help "jump-start" your metabolism early in the day.
I find that warm beverages keep me fuller....do you like decaf coffee or hot tea with splenda?
I honestly didn't have any hunger that early......mine came back at 2 months and I was so disappointed. It has been harder since then. I am fighting head hunger too now.....but I AM WINNING! It gets me ocassionally, but I go for the protein when it happens.
Also, you might want to consider using that time where head hunger sets in to do a little walking for exercise. I started with 10 minutes and worked up from there. I found that exercising takes away the "hungries" (both the head hunger and real hunger) at least temporarily. You might want to try to get 10 minutes (and work up) in in the morning also...as that is another thing that jump starts your metabolism (per a great article in the obesityhelp magazine).
One thing too.....you may not have your normal daily activities back to the way they were. I was pretty bored at 3 weeks and I did think about food more....even though I didn't really want much then. Once your activity is back to normal, there will be less "thinking time." That was a help to me.
But you are doing fine and your loss is great! Good grief, it is half of what I've lost in 11 weeks! So hang in there!!
