Stephen Check back tomorrow afternoon. A client of mine works for the National Guard and goes there quite regularly. I will call her in the morning and she what she has to say. Or else you can look up the Fort Riley website and they will have a link on it for local accomodations. Where are you planning to have your surgery at? Angie

Stephen, Since I live 6 hours from JC when I go anyplace going towards there or KC or whatever I ALWAYS stay at the Motel 6 which is right off I-70 and very close to the hospital, the same exit you take to get to the hospital from I-70 no less (exit 295). The rooms are great and it's never been dirty or loud or anything like that. You will need to make reservations as there are lots of military folks staying there and popping in and expecting to get a room doesn't happen much anymore. The number is: 785-762-2215. I've never had a problem with late check-in or anything like that. Hope that helps. Sharon

Motel 6 is great I was told that they give a discount on rooms to bariatric patients. Not sure how much but hey anything helps. 785-762-2215 If you have any other questions about the area I'm from JC and would be more than happy to help. You learn a lot about the area real quick when you work for the local cab company. I've been a dispatcher here for 2 years. I suggest reservations at any motel you plan on staying in because of the soliders coming home a lot of motels are filling up quickly and it never hurts to be prepared. Good luck. Heather

Yeah Stephen you do get a discount at the Motel 6. I'm not sure how much either, but this is a good hotel. You won't be far from the hospital either. Congratulations on getting your med consult and it won't be long before you have a date. Good Luck and keep us posted. Carmen
