Heard news from insurance... :(

We heard back from the insurance today.. and they are requesting I have more counseling before they approve my surgery. The Psycologist didn't feel like I have enough support or something like that. I am very down right now.. I just want to have this surgery and start moving forward instead of hitting a brick wall. They said probably would only take like one or two more sessions.. but that's still another month or so worth of couseling. And the couselor that I have to go see is like an hour and half away!! So it's not like a short trip. I'm going to do it as I dont' have a choice.. but just kind of down after just getting the call. Kandi

Come on...cheer up. At least they did not right out deny you! Can't you schedule these appts 2 weeks apart or even 1 week apart and get them done? I am not sure they have to be spread so far apart. When I had my counseling (not for wls) I used to go once a week. I would really push for that! Keep your chin up and you know that you will get this accomplished! I called the Psych and after telling the apptment person who I was and why I needed another appt... the Psych got on the phone.. and I told him that I guess I needed another appt because of something he wrote. He said.."What I said was... well ok.. let's go ahead and make appt and talk about it." So I will go in next thursday and see him. So I don't know if it was a missunderstanding or what... will find out thursday and hopefully it will be the end of that part.
