Calling all Kansans!
Hi! I posted this on the main board and I want to put it up here too.
I grew up in Wichita and ended up with all the Yankees here in New England. I had WLS on 12/19 and will be in Kansas in June. My family does not know I had WLS but I will tell them then. Right after they come to from passing out when they see me down 100 pounds. LOL
I set up this profile and a Yahoo box to gather info for my sister and brother in law. They are in their mid 30s with BMIs in the 50s and multiple health problems including apnea and diabetes. I am using this yahoo box to gather information that I will present to them in June. I plan on a sit down talk with the two of them and after that it will be up to them.
They have Boeing HMO insurance.
Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Edith...Congrats on your new life and AWESOME loss!!!!
We have several VERY good surgeons here in Kansas...I'm not going to be much help though with the insurance part. I went to Junction City and the Liv-Lite program. GREAT Docs and staff...very caring and dedicated to our success. After care is comprehensive and the Surgeons and entire staff are at the support groups meetings. They offer the Lap-Band and Open RNY.You can call them at 1-877-260-3064 to get an info packet sent to you for your siblings...the ladies in the office(Patty and Pam) are really terriffic and would be able to answer your question on insurance. There are also surgeons in K.C., Topeka and Wichita. I'm sure some of the others will chime in with their surgeons info for you.
Best wishes and BIG HUGS

Thanks so much! I am having a hard time keeping my mouth shut about the WLS. I was so evasive the other day on the phone with my dad that he asked me if I was pregnant! Yeek!
The E-mail for her special box is [email protected] and feel free to send any info you can think would be helpful at anytime.
Thanks,
Edi
