You asked me to check this out so now you have proof I was here! I got a weird call from the doctor's office today. The lady wanted to know if she could reschedule my pre-op appt with Dr Steward from March 19th at 4pm to 3pm. I told her to go right ahead since I did not even know that I had the first appointment! I am still waiting on my insurance approvals (I had them submit for both the RNY and the Lap Band - cover all my options). Apparently they are already holding a tentative surgery date pending my insurance approval. I think I will crap my pants once I actually have a date. I was thinking that once I got my insurance approval, I would have to waiting another 2-3 months to get on the surgery schedule - I guess that won't necessarily be the case. Talk to you soon!!

LOL! Hi Tracy...I'm here now....I was in Dodge City working yesterday so wasn't on the board...but am back now! You know what?? I did have my appt. on the 19th too (3 month check up) but I called and changed it to the following Tuesday not less than 15 minutes ago! I only changed it cuz my best friend is a teacher and I sub for her (and for other teachers too) and she is going to be gone on the 19th and wanted me to sub for her....so I had to change my appt... Did she tell you what date they are holding?? I know that they are doing more of these surgeries so you might get in faster than I did. I went for my appt. in late Aug. and got a mid-Dec. date.....I didn't have ins. approval at that time but I begged for my date cuz of my work schedule and they gave it to me. I am two months post op today and down 46 lbs.!! yippee!!! On the lap-band....I personally didn't investigate it. I guess I was "taken in" by the terminology of RNY being the "gold standard" but I think it is wise for anyone who wants something less invasive to consider lap-band, if Dr. S and his colleagues are now doing it (and i think JC docs are too??) Keep coming back to the board....I'm determined to get a little more activity going on here!!!! LOL! Jenni

Thank you Fran! You are such a great cheerleader for all of us!! I'm very happy with my loss and just feel so good now....eating is going great (though not much, of course) but I've learned what works and what doesn't. Life is an adventure! Jenni
