Stress

I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. Lately I have been under A LOT of personal stress and it is really affecting me. For over a week now I have not been able to put anything other than water & crackers in my stomach w/out getting sick. I know that it is because of my nerves but nothing seems to help. I know that I have to start getting something to stay down - I know how important that is but it's just not happening right now. It has gotten so bad that I barely had the strength to walk up 1/2 flight of stairs tonight on my way to a meeting. I'm really getting concerned - I have had no problems w/my WLS thus far and really don't want any setbacks. Any advice would be appreciated. Angie

I would talk with your doctor and let him know what is going on. Are you able to get in any protein drinks at all? The fruity nectar ones I hear are very good and don't sound stomach upsetting like perhaps some of the cho. or van-types would be...??? If you can get protein and vitamins down, you would be fine for a while... the protein would keep your body from taking the protein from your existing muscles. As far as your stress goes, I do know that there are some biofeedback-type programs (your doctor may know of some) that teaches relaxation techniques to use in times of stress. I think these would be useful for people who are prone to store stress.... Thennn alsooo, I heard on Dr. Phil this last week, he was talking about a tape he was recommending for people to get over stress.... not sure I remember the name of it, but I bet you could go onto his website and search for it. It was some type of tape you would listen to each day... Otherwise, I just wish you the best. Know that there are people here pulling for you. Susan S.
