I did not get my approval!
I just found out from BC BS of IL that they will not approve me until I have had 6 mos of medically supervised weight loss attempt. So the 6 1/2 mos I did at Weigh****chers was for nothing! I am so pissed off. I truly thought Nola and I had put together this air tight request. I guess I get in touch with my PCP and get a 6 mos plan in place. I guess at this point I should hope to have this happen by yearend. I certainly could use any encouragement from anyone right now. I am so low, I just continue to cry and can't quit!
Thanks for listening.
Oh Cindy...I'm soooo sorry, that must have been a BIG let down. You're taking the right steps though, with getting your PCP to put you on a 6 mo. diet. Just do your best and keep your chin up sweetie...there is still a light at the end of the tunnel!!!! Keep us posted on how things are going...okay!!
BIG HUGS

Cindy -
I'm so sorry to hear that you were not approved. I am going through the same thing with my insurance company. I started my 6 months in October and I'm now half way through. I was really disappointed when I learned of the 6 months, but I decided that the sooner I got started the sooner my 6 months would be done. I don't like it at all, God knows I've tried every diet in the book. But, unfortunately, insurance calls the shots not our Drs. who know what is best for us. Insurance is just trying to make it hard so that we will give up. Don't let them win!!!! Show them how serious you are about taking your life and your health back. Keep your chin up and we'll count days together. Here's a Kleenex and a big hug. Jami
Cindy, I'm so sorry to hear that you were denied. BIG HUG!! I hate that your WW was not able to be considered! At least you know the exact steps you need to take and can begin that process with your PCP.
I know this is a difficult time for you, hang in there and know that you are at least getting a step closer. The hoops we have to jump through to have this surgery just makes it so hard and yet so well worth it. Hope you have a PCP you like since you'll be seeing them on a regular basis. Make sure they are documenting in your file specifically that you are going in for monthly follow-up on PCP supervised diet. That will need to be written specifically in your med records so when the insurance company pulls reads it they will be clear in seeing it.
Hang in there girlie!
