Wishing all those on the Kansas board a Happy New Year! We're having friends over tonight (one couple and their kids) and will have supper and play cards...pretty typical new year's eve for us. Of course I won't be eating what they are eating but that is OK. I'm really struggling with protein drinks....oh my, they are yucko. I drink a lot of warm milk (made with non-fat dry milk) to get in my protein and I count it toward my fluid too....I hope that is OK....it seems to be the best I can do right now. Well, I've strayed from my original topic....which is to wish you all a happy new year....2004, here I come! Jenni

Happy New Year from Southwestern Kansas!! Jenni, sounds like you will have a fun night! Hubs and I are going to our Community Center for a Soup Dinner and NYE party. It will be our first time of attending for NYE. I am taking Peanut Butter Fudge since I wanted to get the fixings outta my house! I made lots of fudge for gifts this year and had stuff leftover. I want to start the New Year off without all that junk around the house. Best wishes to all for a successful, healthy year! Big hugs, Sharon

I too use to be part of the "protein shakes are icky" group, but I've found one that is fantastic!! It's called Amplify I get it at GNC at 119th and Roe (Town Center) in Leawood. This is not at GNC product, but I can get it here because this is not a corporate store. A container is $40.00 and will last 30 days if you use 1.5 scoops per day. 1.5 scoops is one shake and will give you 30 grams of protein. I have both the chocolate and vanilla flavor. I use 4-5 oz. of water, three ice cubes, 1.5 scoops of protein and blended it all up with my trusty blender stick. I also use a shot of sugar free carmel, but this isn't necessary as it tastes just as good without it. By itself the shake is not overly sweet like a lot of this stuff can be. Everything else I've tried has been pretty disgusting, but I swear by this stuff. I travel for my job, and take this with me on the road (lord only knows what the baggage handlers think of my blender stick!) so that I know that I'm getting at least one good meal while I'm on the road. Good luck and I hope that this helps!
