Michelle, I had forgotten how close your date was after mine (when I was typing the last post)! I just checked after sending the last message! You will be right behind me! I really hope I'm not still in the hospital when you get there....no offense.....LOL! But I hope to be doing so well that I won't need to be there....and you'll probably (hopefully) have left the hospital by my post-op visit (26th)....but we'll compare notes via e-mail and this board, OK? I have had less and less anxiety (really) as it gets closer...I have my moments but I really lately have had a lot of peace so I hope the same for you. Jenni

Hey Jenni, wowzie time is getting closer! I'm soooo excited for you, this is such an awesome journey! You are going to do GREAT!! I think it would be fun if we all shared a little about our neck of the woods. I grew up in the town that Jenni lives in, I remember as a teenager dying to get "out" and now, I long for the comforts of small town life. I live in a medium sized town, but within 20 minutes of "The City" LOL. KC is fun, and living nearby is so very conveinent but sometimes the "rat race" is too much, I long to escape. We had 9" of snow on the ground until yesterday, nice warm day and most of it melted away. I do not like snow and when I retire will move so far south that it will become a distant memory! It is very unusual for us to get this much snow, normally here in the northeat we get ice, and lots of it (remembering the ice storm of '02). It's funny how I relate dates to before wls and after wls...I would not have survived that ice storm as well preop as i managed 100 pounds lighter! Many things are like that, wls sets you free! Well, I've been awake since 3:00 (weird sleeping hours here lately) and I tend to ramble a bit at this point. But....wanted to give ya something to read!! lol Take care (((hugs))) and smiles =))))

Deb, I typed out a long response (but I totally got off on another subject) and my darn computer had an error.....and lost my message. So this will probably be the abbreviated version......I can tell you that you grew up in a WONDERFUL town.....I'm a transplant but have lived here for 18 yrs. and it is HOME...I rarely go back to my "hometown" as I have no family there. In my other message I went on to say that I have a lot of support, but it is all from my thin friends. People who are heavy do NOT want to hear about it or worse, they make negative comments about it (sometimes disguised among a few supportive words). I have really tried to understand this.....and I think I do. They are sad because they don't think they could do something this radical and therefore they know that they will probably live out their life heavy and uncomfortable and unhealthy. The thin ones will say, "I just know this is going to make your life so much better and healthy." The heavy ones will say with a sad and cautious tone, "I hope this goes well for you." There is such an obvious difference in what they say but more how they say it. Anyway, that is way off the subject but just something that I've REALLY noticed in the last few days. Thanks for all your support! See you on the loosing side soon!! Jenni

I agree with you Jenni. I don't check this board very often because it doesn't seem to change. If I check it once a week, I can get caught up easily. Good luck on your surgery and I know you will be a LOOSER soon!!! I'm just waiting to get through Christmas and our move, then it will be my turn. I pray that there will be no more delays as 3 different surgery dates is a true exercise in patients!
