missed my pre-op

I missed my pre-op appt. with Dr. Steward and with the hospital (testing) due to the storm yesterday. That was actually for the best as I hadn't slept at all the night before.....and I do MEAN not at ALL.....not one minute. I was definately having anxiety about this whole thing. I did sleep last night and am feeling better today....I'm also getting over a cold. Surgery is one week from tomorrow....I feel like I'm on a roller coaster. Anyway, I have my pre-ops scheduled for Friday now. Anyone that had Dr. Steward, do we have to be on a special eating program the day before? Since I didn't see him, I wasn't able to find out. Well, I'm definately up and down with this whole thing....I can't believe it is so close and I really want the joys of getting thinner and healthier but I really worry about complications. Wi**** were over with and about 3 months down the road! Jenni

Jenni, I know exactly how you feel. I am not even to the point of having an appt yet and already have begun the anxiety. I do know however, that I am making the right choice for me. As long as I focus on that, I can bring myself back in to a calm state and put things in perspective. Focus on yourself and know that you are making the choices that are right for you. Let us know how you are doing!

Jenni, I totally understand...I am a bit nervous too...only 4 days behind you! Whenever I get a bit antsy about this, I read a few profiles. There are so many amazing success stories on this site, and reading them gets me all reared up and ready to go! Hope this helps, and know that you are not alone in this battle! I'll be thinking of you. cherie

Jenni, Raise your arms up high for your roller coaster ride and let out a big yell! Your day is getting so close, even with missed pre-ops. Nothing like weather to change things up a bit on you huh? Not sure about Dr. Steward's pre-ops (obviously) but I didn't have to have a special diet. It was mainly bloodwork, no eating the night before (because of an endoscope exam), lots of X-rays and pulmonary functioning test. I'm sure others who have used him will chime in, this is when you know it's getting closer to the other side. Big hugs, Sharon
