Newbie looking for anyone's valuable input
Hello everyone. I have spent the last 3 months reading profiles, making my own profile and reading the messages that everyone posts. It does seem that this is truly a very caring community. I have been to the WLSSG last month at the library. It was VERY informative. I plan to go again on Dec. 21st. I also will be attending the information lecture that Dr. Hoehn's staff will have on Dec. 16th. I have talked to Nola at the dr.'s office and have started getting my medical records sent to her. I can't wait until the 16th to see what the lecture has to offer. I can't wait to get on the losing side! wish me luck and any suggestions would be appreciated. I am having a little trouble getting my husband to buy in to this. He doesn't think it's necessary, but I am 43 years old weight 286 pounds and have Type 2 Diabetes, and a very bad sciatic nerve problem in my back and leg. I think it's time to do something successfully about this.
Welcome Cindy! You've picked a great team to work with. Nola is absolutely fabulous. We are close in age...I am 45. I have my surgery with Dr. Hitch**** on 12/22...just 17 more days!
Have you given your husband materials to read? Take him to Dr. Hoehn's presentation...it is very good! Their office also has a monthly support group for their patients....in fact we met last night. It is truly amazing to hear the success stories.
I wish you much luck and know that you will make the right decision for YOU! If I can be of any help, please so not hesitate to e-mail!
